Erney, party of four!! Sweet little Bodhi came a couple weeks early, but that just means Mommy & Daddy got to hold him and love on him more! I had a newborn session with Bodhi when he was 6 days fresh and all he wanted was to be held my mommy… and eat. and cry. But that’s his job!! All in all, Bodhi did great and he looks so sweet and cuddly… well, because he is! I can’t wait to watch this little guy grow up and play baseball like his daddy!!
You are the sunshine that makes my day.
Graduating from high school is the end of an era, but it is also the beginning of a new adventure in life. It is a time when you truly discover who you are, what you want to be, and where you want to go. Great things lay ahead for this amazing young lady! I have watched her grow up from toddler-hood with an beautiful spirit and soul.
Congratulations to you Taylor for all your hard work and to all the great accomplishments you will achieve! Your family is so proud of the wonderful young woman you have become, and all the amazing things that are to be. Go forth and rock it, girl!!
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
-Henry David Thoreau
Graduating high school is a major milestone in a young person’s life. It’s closing a chapter on part of your life as a child, and starting a new one as an adult. You work hard for your grades, and your parents help to guide you to become a responsible adult and to make good choices. In this next phase in life, you get to choose and create your life path – it’s a pretty big deal!
Levi is a great young man! He’s smart and has a great sense of humor; he loves his Carolina Panthers and the outdoors. There are amazing things in store for him in the future! And as for mom and dad… their little boy has become a man. It’s bitter sweet, but they have done a WONDERFUL job raising such a great kid!
We ended up doing a double session over two days for Levi to hit up three awesome locations… I think this was more for mom to have as many keepsake images of her ‘baby boy’ all grown up. The locations were amazing, especially the farm that holds dear memories for their family as a whole. I had a great time with Levi capturing such beautiful images!
There are two gifts we should give our children; one is roots, and the other is wings.

This is a follow up to the maternity session with Jen & Charlie… now they are a family of 3!!… well, four if you count their fur-st baby Gina!
Little Ollie was born in December and is now a whopping 3 months old! I got to catch up with this cute little family and captured bath time, which Ollie absolutely loves. He was kicking, splashing mom & dad, and having all the fun he could have. He is an adorable little man in the making! And his big fur-sister Gina is adjusting quite well to the family addition!
The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing…

BIG things are happening in the Gulling family!! Ryan and Heather are welcoming their 4th child this December, and after having 3 WONDERFUL boys, they are being blessed with a sweet baby girl.
And how fitting that the current baby of the family got to share the news that he is finally joining the ranks of ‘Big Brother’ while the older bros got to help announce that they are finally getting a sister!
There can be no better companion than a brother. There can be no better friend than a sister.

Nyny & Ryry are two little girls FULLLL of energy! They are chatty little busy bodies, bouncing off the walls like they drank a 64oz Big Gulp of Gummy Beary Juice (remember The Gummy Bears? bouncing here and there, and everywhere???) I got them to settle down when the realized they were going to wear MAKEUP like an adult, albeit a little, but they were so excited for the mascara and shimmery eye shadow. They transformed into little Divas… and I loved it!
We had lots of fun through the session – we started off light and fun, as they ran end to end on a covered bridge, twirled like little ballerinas, and gave each other piggy-back rides. Then their soft sisterly sides came out – arms around each other and even sneaking a kiss! Right next to the bridge were some big leafy bushes, so I had them put on their serious faces – they aced it like pros. One pose they were adamant about doing (with no objections from me!) was standing back-to-back with their arms crossed. That is one of my absolute favorites from this session!!
These girls are basically veterans in front of the camera with their poses and facial expressions. I can’t wait to have another session with these high-personality girls!!
With a busy schedule of eating, pooping and napping, little Jonathan managed to squeeze in his newborn portrait session. At the ripe old age of 10 days old, Jonathan is a seasoned model that knows how to work the camera… I mean, just look at his adorable little face!! Go ahead, look!
John and Lauren could not have lucked out with a better baby – their bouncing baby boy is truly a bundle of joy! It’s amazing how much he has changed in just a few short 10 day (check out his Fresh48 session here). I cannot wait to see how much Jonathan changes as he grows up and becomes his own little person!
A new baby is like the beginning of all things – wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities. – Eda J. LeShan
little baller //
The magic that created little Jonathan happened after an Ohio State Buckeye football game last October, and we stopped outside of the stadium for John & Lauren’s maternity session, so it was only fitting to start the session with the football onesie. His two-a-day practices are still a few years off, but he sure does look good in uniform! LOL
burrito love //
To stay in theme with Ohio State Buckeyes, we wrapped the little guy in a chili pepper red (the closest I could find to scarlett LOL) against the grey & white backdrop, coupled with the most adorable parted do. Jonathan was all cuddled up, as snug as a bug in a rug… but waaaay cuter!! 🙂
Jonathan’s dad was in the Army for 11 years, and he brought one of his tees and dog tags to the session. What better (or cuter) way is there to pay homage to his dad’s military career?! Who knows if he’ll follow is in dad’s footsteps and join the military, or if he’ll be a future Buckeye football player…. or maybe a boxer (did you see his little, tiny, adorable fists in the last photo?? he may be laying down but he’s got good form… and is hinting at being a south-paw!).
While most family activities are captured by the latest cell phone camera technology, with some cool filters and stickers to play with, most likely the images will just be of your kids, not of your whole family (eh-hem, that means you, moms and dads!).
While you think ‘Whew! I dodged the camera bullet – I’m a sweaty mess!’, your kids just see you as mom and dad, and love you just as you are. These images are not just for you to look at and remember a fun family day, but these are keepsakes for your children to possibly show their kids… so why wouldn’t you want to be in them?? Get over yourself, and get in those pictures too!!
How do you take the stress of enjoying the moment while trying to capture it at the same time?? That’s what I’m here for!! You might think it’s weird to hire your own paparazzi, you will more than love the moments captured that otherwise could not be, and that you have evidence that your kids are yours and that you were really there too. (lol)
I had the opportunity to follow the Gulling family to the Scioto Mile water fountain park on a hot July day, and let the family play and enjoy themselves while I took on the stress of dodging random kids, the squirting fountains and all the chaos that comes with taking 3 kids to a public play space. While Ryan was only able to sneak away during his lunch break to meet Heather and the boys for a short while, it a great day for a water park, ice cream and a pizza picnic!
family fun //
Austin’s introduction to the water fountain park with the whole family! For an 18 month old, he sure was skeptical about the water shooting up and he needed to observe the other children’s behavior. He analyzed the situation on how to approach and engage, but he totally got into it.
lunch time //
While Caleb and Elijah raced to see who could eat their pizza first, Austin just sat back and savored the flavors… and saved some for later… Okay – time to go back and play now!!
splish’in and a splash’in //
Since no one is actually swimming, we opted out of waiting 30 minutes before returning to the water 😉 It was time to cool down again – the shade we found to eat under didn’t help much with the heat. This time, all the boys were ready to get wet (i.e. sprayed in the face).
all good things must come to an end //
With the boys wore out from playing in the sun, it was time to wrap up our day together. Before heading home for a snack and some well-earned naps, it was time for them to head to the library to get books for summer reading. These boys definitely had fun in the hot, humid Ohio sun, and, best of all, Heather got to enjoy time with her boys without worrying about getting pictures and missing moments, or dropping her phone in the giant puddle we were in, and Ryan gets to see how much fun they had while he was at work (drying off after getting some major splashes from random kids LOL).
HELLO baby Jonathan!! This handsome little guy was 3 days late during an icky, humid Ohio July, making an adorable entrance into the world after spending 24 hours trying to get out (well, maybe trying to stay in… lol).
Through the heartburn and pains, the waddling and swelling… it was all worth it for Lauren and John to meet their little boy! At a ripe old age of 38 hours old, Jonathan was working the camera like a professional. This little love nugget is also my great nephew, and I cannot wait to watch him grow up (but not too fast!!) and become a dapper little ladies man LOL
Welcome to the world, Lil Jon….er… I mean lil buddy!!! #yeeeeeah #ooookay
hello world //
Matilda. From the Germanic name Mahthildis meaning “strength in battle”, from the elements maht “might, strength” and hild “battle”. This is a name steeped with meaning and could not be more fitting for this little ginger princess. Arriving two weeks early, and as big as a peanut, she has a strong spirit and a healthy appetite… she may be small but she is definitely fierce! And the amount of love that her adorable parents, Allie and Tim, feel for her is immeasurable.
No matter how hard we tried, Matilda did not want to be put down, even if she was sleeping… we even tried working with her while she was awake, but in no way did she NOT want to be in her mama’s arms! So we took a little break from shooting so we did it!! We were able to get some really, really cute shots of her wrapped up like a burrito (LOL) and in the wicker basket. She looked soooo comfy, I kind of felt bad having to take her out… she was knocked out!
She was only 10 days old at the time of our session, but she already looks good in green just like her mommy, and she presses her little fist against her cheek just like her daddy did. Sweet Matilda a perfect combination of her parents… it is going to be a pleasure to watch little Matilda grow up!
Congratulations Allie and Tim on your sweet, princess!
This little peanut is so cute! He was so interested in what was happening around him and this new person, and he didn’t want to miss a thing. He fought sleep with a valiant effort, I must say. I think my favorite picture is of Colton and his BFF / guard-cat Freddie… we were trying to swaddle a kicking baby and Freddie plopped down next to him (in guard-cat mode) and started rubbing his face on his little human’s face. Such love!! They both happened to look up at me at the same time – wide eyed and actually looking at me and not my general direction LOL #purfection
I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed everything about this session!!
Dream BIG, baby boy.
6 weeks //
This was such a special Mother’s Day / birthday session for Rhiannon – just a mother and her two sons. Mama bear and her two cubs, fiercely protecting them as she shows them the world. There is no love like a mother’s love, and there is no love like a sons love in return.
I had so much fun chasing these little guys around and getting them to give me real smiles and not the “cheeeeeeeeeeese” smiles! And let me tell you, when they found out I had cupcakes… Game. Over. LOL And can I just say how stinkin’ cute are these little gentlemen in their little bow ties?!?! I just can’t get enough of them!! I hope I get to capture these little ones as they grow up from littles to big men!
“It takes someone really brave to be a mother, someone strong to raise a child and someone special to love someone more than herself.” – Lilly
What a sweet Easter weekend session this was!! Liz, Reed and Kamden were a ball of fun – Kamden is definitely a little ham at just 4 months! He laughed, he giggled, he rolled over and wiggled… just like little boys do! Laying down was his least favorite position – he’s man on the go (well, on the scoot!) and nobody has time for all that laying down… LOL I look forward to watching this little guy to grow into a gentleman!
happy family //
Back when he was still a bun in the oven, I took a few maternity photos of Austin’s mama, my friend Heather… it wasn’t the best session since it was my first time doing maternity and the lighting wasn’t the best, and we are total goofballs when we get together… so we did some goofy stuff. (fun to look back on as friends – I just have to roll my eyes and laugh LOL) It was January and I didn’t have a studio… she had a leather jacket and boots… why not do a motorcycle mama shoot??
Then he finally arrived and I couldn’t wait to see him! I met Austin within 24 hours of his appearance into this world and we had our first session in the hospital. I captured three generations holding baby Austin – both his parents, his paternal grandparents and his paternal great-grandmother! That was amazing and the room was filled with so much love!!
Watching this little nugget grow up has been awesome! Seeing him learn, grow, walk, laugh (especially laugh) warms my heart. So now, that little peanut is turning the big O-N-E!! It’s hard to believe a year has passed already, but the days will only go quicker watching this little tyke grow up at warp speed!!

I read this article and I felt like I needed to share. There are some good tips for clients to help them prepare for their shoot! These are just basic tips, that are very useful!
